Dietsche, David (1 MAR 1922 - 9 NOV 1940)

David Dietsche, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Dietsche, passed away November 9, 1940, of a heart attack, at the home of his employer, Ernest Clouse in the town of Beaver, Clark county.  Death occurred at 9:30 a.m. and the deceased was 18 years, 8 months and 8 days of age.  David was born March 1, 1922, in the town of Sherman, Clark county.  He got his education in the Veefkind grade school and also attended Salem Lutheran Sunday school and church.  He was confirmed June 25, 1939, by Rev.  Frank Albrecht.  He was baptized on March 1, 1922.  Five years ago he spent two months at the Madison hospital, where he underwent a slight operation.  For nearly the past two years David had worked out.  When out of work he stayed at home with his mother.  At his present place he had worked a little over two months.

David’s father preceded him in death a little over two years ago, as did also one sister who died in infancy.  Left to mourn his death are his mother, Mrs. John Dietsche; five brothers, Wallace, town of Loyal; Alpheus, Allen and John, all of town of Sherman; Paul of Medford; six sisters, Lillian Dietsche, Mrs. Wilbur Kayhart (Naomi) of town of Sherman; Mrs. Ernest Karau (Marion), town of Spencer; Mrs. Joseph Hoffman (Rose) of Miwaukee; also his grandmother, Mrs. Benj. Dietsche of Abbotsford and many other relatives and a host of friends.  He was liked by all who knew him.

David’s body was taken to the Burial Association funeral home at Marshfield, and was then brought to his home Tuesday, Nov. 12.  Funeral services were held in the Lutheran church in the town of Sherman at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 13, Rev. Frank Albrecht, officiating, with interment in West Spencer cemetery.  The pall bearers were Eldon Fisher, Vernon Stevens, Randall Miller, William Price, Donald Fisher and Merlyn Horn.  The flower girls were Wilma Guetschow, Fern and Sylvia Horn, Lelah Nell Peden.  They were school mates of the deceased.
