O’Mealy, Josie (18 September 1887 - 20 April 1965)

 

Funeral services were held Friday afternoon from the Gilbertson Funeral Home in Granton for Mrs. Josie O’Mealy, 77, who had been residing in the Morrow Home in Sparta for the last four and one-half years.  Mrs. O’Mealy, a former resident of Granton, died April 20 of a heart attack while visiting relatives in Reedsburg.  She was found dead in bed.

 

The Rev. Oscar Nichols of Neillsville officiated. Burial was made in Windfall Cemetery at Granton.

 

Mrs. O’Mealy, the former Josie Carter, was born September 18, 1887, in Richland County, receiving her education there.  On August 12, 1906, she was married to the late Walter C. O’Mealy, who died in 1953.  They located in Granton in 1947.

 

She is survived by two sons, Harry O’Mealy of Springfield, Mo., and Darwin of La Crosse; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

 

Mrs. O’Mealy was a member of the Methodist Church and its Ladies Aid of Granton.
