Bowen, Dora (3 August 1882 - 22 April 1965)

 

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon from the Georgas Funeral Home for Mrs. Dora Bowen, 82, who died here Thursday. The Rev. Oscar L. Nichols of the Methodist Church officiated.  Burial was made in the Greenwood Cemetery.

 

Mrs. Bowen, the former Dora McCarty, was born August 3, 1882. Her parents were the late John and Jeanette (Smith) McCarty.  She was married to the late Ed Bowen.

 

Mrs. Bowen is survived by three children: Howard Bowen of Wisconsin Rapids, Mrs. Fern Scholtz of Waukesha, and Laraine Peterson of West Bourgh; a brother, Haskell McCarty of Lac du Flambeau; and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

 

Pallbearers were: Elmer Buddenhagen, Art Opelt, Lewis Scholtz, Oliver Williams, Elmer Kapfer and Ralph Short.

 

People from out of town attending the services were: Howard Bowen and family and Mr. and Mrs. James Bowen of Wisconsin Rapids; Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Scholtz and Mr. and Mrs. Arther Richardson, Jr., of Waukesha; Mr. and Mrs. Lester Peterson and family of Westboro; Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Bohn and Haskell McCarty of Lac du Flambeau; Mr. and Mrs. William Belmer of New Berlin; Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Olson of Chelsea; Mrs. Mary Bowen and Mrs. Floyd Ackerman of Owen; Jack Bowen of Rockford, Ill.; and Mr. and Mrs. Roy Plemmons and Mrs. Charles Anderson of Chicago.
