Laine, Arthur (18 NOV 1880 - 5 JUL 1963)

Final rites were held for Arthur Laine, 83, a resident of Withee (Clark Co., Wis.) for the past 10 years on Monday of this week.  He passed away July 5^th, 1963 at the Havenet Nursing Home, Owen, where he had been a resident for the past six months.

Rev. Lauri Isaacson, pastor of Bethany Lutheran Church, Owen, officiated, with burial being made at Riverside Cemetery.  Serving as honorary pallbearers were Kauno Niemi, Brady Vornstadt, John Blunck Sr., Carl Andreasen, Matt Hautamaki and Charles Kangas.  Pallbearers were Alin Niemi, Clarence Miller, Martin Paulsen, Tracy Hansen, Toivo Kangas and John Blunck Jr.

In charge of floral offerings were Lily Kile, June Niemi and Eva Buss.

Mr. Laine was born Nov. 18, 1880 in Helsinki, Finland.  He came to the U.S. and married Hulga Koskinen on May 26, 1906, at Negaunee, Mich.  They came to Withee in 1913 and settled on a farm in Hixon Township.  In 1940 he retired and moved to Withee.  For the past several months he had been a patient at the Havenet Home.  His wife preceded him in death several years ago.

He is survived by two sons, Arthur Hugh Laine, Tofte, Minn.; and Veino Laine Skokie, Ill, and five grandchildren.
