Winter is certainly getting impatient because summer won’t give ground and let winter have his reign.  It is a great time for late plowing and breaking this fall, and the farmers can do good work.

The hunters are coming back single and by bunches with or without their state allowance.  It seems the younger hunters have more luck than some of the older experienced ones.

Mr. A. Wendorf was called away Sunday by the news of the death of his mother who had been sick for quite a while.  Mr. Wendorf has seen her just 2 weeks ago, and had found her very weak at the time, so the news did not come unexpected.  He will return by the end of the week.

Chas. Lindow has commenced to build a barn on his land.

Randolph Popp has company from the southern part of the state since Tuesday morning.  James Davidson took them out as far as his place.

Herman Roehl has been selling corn by the ton this fall, an unusual happening for this part of the country.
