Becker, Beverly Ann (Marriage - 9 January 1965)

Nuptial vows were exchanged Saturday at 11 a.m. in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Neillsville uniting in marriage Miss Beverly Ann Becker of Lake Geneva, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Becker of Neillsville, and Walter Wayne Schenk, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Schenk of Lake Geneva.  The double ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. Bernard T. Kelly.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, was attired in a peau de soie floor length gown fashioned with a full bouffant skirt, appliquéd with Viennese lace. The back of the dress was accented with a large bow. Viennese lace enhanced the sequin trimmed portrait neckline. A bouffant cloud veil of bridal illusion was attached to a cluster of peau de soie roses. She carried a crescent shaped bouquet, consisting of pink sweetheart roses and white stephanotis centered with a white orchid.

Miss Carol Becker of Marshfield was maid of honor.  Serving as bridesmaids were two sisters, Diane and Lynette Becker of Neillsville.

The attendants wore gowns of sea green peau de soie, styled with three-quarter-length sleeves and fitted bodices, enhanced with bateau necklines. Their dresses were accented with bell-shaped skirts, highlighted with watteau sashes at back of necklines. They wore headpieces of cabbage roses of peau de soie with matching face veils. Their flowers were crescent bouquets of pink carnations with accents to match the dresses.

Thomas Schmidt of Milton Junction carried the rings on a white satin pillow, while Mary Beth Schmidt served as flowergirl.

Edward Schenk of Lake Geneva was bestman for his brother. Groomsmen were Eugene and Guy Schenk of Lake Geneva, both brothers of the groom. Ushers were Richard Schmidt and William Schenk.

Nuptial music was furnished by the children’s choir of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

A wedding reception was held in the American Legion Hall, which was attended by 175 guests.

Mr. and Mrs. Schenk left Saturday evening on a short wedding trip to Northern Wisconsin. They will reside on Conant St., Kenners Apt. 2 at Lake Geneva after January 15.

Mrs. Schenk is a graduate of Neillsville High School and the Wood County Normal School in Wisconsin Rapids. At present, she is teaching in Traver School in Lake Geneva.  Mr. Schenk attended schools in Lake Geneva and Chicago, and is a corporation employee in Franklin Park, Ill.

Among those from out of town attending the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. Edward Schenk of Lake Geneva, and Mrs. and Mrs. William Clark and daughters of Chicago; others were here from Milwaukee, Chicago, Lake Geneva, Milton Junction, Madison, Marshfield, Loyal, Granton and Humbird.
