Spry, Edith N. (25 August 1882 - 10 December 1964)

 

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon from the Neillsville Methodist Church for Mrs. Edith N. Spry, 82, Neillsville, who died here December 10. The Rev. Oscar Nichols officiated.  Burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

 

Edith N. Spry was born August 25, 1882, in Sabin, where she grew to womanhood and received her education.  On June 29, 1910, she was married in Richland Center to the late Charles Spry, who died in 1956.  They farmed for a few years near Richland Center before coming to Clark County, where they farmed in the Town of Grant for five years.  In 1944 they moved to Neillsville.

 

Mrs. Spry is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Herb (Dorothy) Schnabel of Rt. 1 Granton and Mrs. Raymond (Doris) Foemmel of Rt. 2 Granton.  Other survivors are three sisters, Mrs. M. B. Ferguson of Viroqua, Mrs. Agnes Voaklander of Osage, Ia., and Mrs. Verna Ammerman of Phoenix, Ariz.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

 

Wilfred B. Galstad sang, "Beyond the Sunset" and "Abide with Me" accompanied by Mrs. James A. Musil.

 

Pallbearers were: Robert and Phelps Spry, Ronald Gluch, Ervin Foemmel, D. Spry and Albert Smith.

 

People from out of town attending the service were: the Rev. and Mrs. M. B. Ferguson of Viroqua; Mr. and Mrs. Nilon Neff, Mrs. Max Baumann and Mrs. Raymond Craig of Madison; Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Foemmel and family, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Schnabel and family, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Sternitzky, Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Garbisch, Mr. and Mrs. John Gluch, and Mrs. Lloyd Spry, all of Granton; Mr. and Mrs. Phelps Spry, Robert Spry and Mrs. Walter Helm of Chili; the Rev. and Mrs. Laurence Hultman and Mrs. Vinus Penny of Little Cedar, Ia.
