Gust, Augusta (8 MAR 1886 - 19 DEC 1962)

 

Funeral services were conducted Friday afternoon at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Withee for Mrs. Augusta Gust, 76, Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), who died last week Wednesday at the Havenet Nursing Home.  The Rev. Leroy Urman officiated and burial as made in Riverside Cemetery at Withee.

 

Pallbearers were Peter Steager, Gust Braun, Adolph Cizek, Walter Heideman, Faustin LaLondie and Ed Severson.

 

Mrs. Ted Clofflin, accompanied by Mrs. Herman Rabska, sang "Nearer My God to Thee" and "Beneath the Cross of Jesus."

 

The former Augusta Bruchschlager was born March 8, 1886 in Nile Center, Ill. and was married in 1908 in California to Dan Reagen.  He died in 1911.  In 1915 she moved to Chicago and later came to Withee (Clark Co., Wis.).

 

Her second marriage took place in Withee in 1944 to Henry Gust.  She had been a resident of the Havenet Nursing Home after suffering a stroke two days before her death.  She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church.

 

She is survived by a son, Dan Reagen, Woodruff; a daughter, Mrs. William F. Peterson, Lincoln Wood, Ill., a grandchildren; two brothers and three sisters.

 

Attending the services from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Reagen, Woodruff; Mr. and Mrs. S.M. Johnstone, Minneapolis, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. William F. Peterson, Lincoln Wood, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Richard Guensburg, Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. Darrel Gust and son, Bryant, and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Severson, La Crosse, and Mr. and Mrs. Brucks, Eau Claire.
