Hrman Braatz was on business in Wood County on Monday.

 

Miss Irma Albrecht spent Sunday with her parents near Chili.

 

Miss Bertha Worchel went to Chili Friday and made an over Sunday visit at the Adolph Bell home.

 

Arthur Stallman spent the latter part of last week here with his parents.

 

Mrs. John Breseman and her sister Mrs. Agnes Krause spent Tuesday at Marshfield.

 

Miss Laura Gerzemehle is home from Owatonna and other Minnesota points since Saturday.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Meddaugh, with their family of eight children who vacated the Dr. Ross farm, moved to Dorchester on Monday.

 

Miss Lida Scheier and her mother spent Tuesday in Marshfield that the latter might consult an eye specialist in regard to her failing sight.

 

Geo. Schummel and Bruce Armitage of Neillsville were here on business last Friday.

 

Mrs. Fred Hart, her daughters Lenore and Irene and son Kenneth, went to Humbird Friday for a several days visit among relatives.

 

Mrs. A.W. Hales drove in Friday evening and met her son Harry, who had spent the day with friends at Marshfield.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Marg of Marshfield spent Tuesday here between the Henry Marg and Gerzemehle homes.

 

Mrs. H.E. Williams went to Neillsville last Saturday for a couple of days visit with her mother and son Lamont.

 

Mrs. P.M. Ross and Mr. and Mrs. H.S. Agin spent Friday afternoon of last week with Dr. and Mrs. Housley at Chili.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Petznick of Shawano came last Friday and spent several days here looking for a good cheese factory to buy in this vicinity.

 

Ella Ackerman was home from Chili for a weekend visit.

 

Miss Alma Pischer is engaged at the Witte home since Tuesday.

 

Mrs. Gustie Breed had dental work done at Neillsville Saturday.

 

Mr. E.L. Bradbury of Neillsville spent last Saturday here with Mrs. W.S. Davis.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Sid Davis went to Grand Rapids Saturday and remained until Monday evening.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Free Converse left yesterday for a visit at the Price Beeckler home in Terre Haute, Ind.

 

Mrs. Ed Riedel, Mrs. Grasser and Miss Lena Cole spent last Saturday with friends at Marshfield.

 

Frank Wood spent Saturday at Neillsville.

 

Otto Garbush went to Wausau on Monday.

 

Rev. and Mrs. W.D. Wells of Berlin arrived here Thursday evening of last week and remained until Monday, guests of the H.S. Agin home, Rev. Wells being a brother of Mrs. Agin.  They continued on to Eau Claire Monday to attend the Baptist State Convention.

 

The Misses Vera and Harriet Pietenpol and Ethel Osgood spent Friday afternoon with Mrs. Mason and Mrs. Fuller.

 

Mrs. John Vande Berg and daughter Ida, and Mrs. Abraham Vande Berg and son Irwin, all of York, spent Tuesday in Marshfield.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Chester Stratton came up from Black River Falls Saturday for a visit at the Free Converse home.

 

Henry Lawson was called to Waldo Tuesday to attend the funeral of his uncle Abraham Lawson.  Mrs. Lawson accompanied him as far as Marshfield and she spent the day with friends in that city.

 

Mr. and Mrs. John Martin and their two children came from Duluth Sunday morning for a visit at the John Hiles home.  They departed for their home at Wausau on Tuesday.

 

Mrs. Richard Kurth received a telegram Saturday to the effect that Rev. and Mrs. Leo Moench of Clintonville became that day the proud parents of their third child.  This is their second boy.  Mrs. Kurth left for Clintonville the next day.

 

Mrs. C. Hayden and her daughter-in-law Mrs. Louis Hayden went to Eau Claire Friday to visit the former’s daughter Mrs. Sam Martin, who has been very ill at the hospital there for the past two weeks.

 

Miss Ella Porte of Milwaukee arrived here Tuesday for a several days visit with Miss Ida Winter.  Ida met her at Marshfield.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Fred Gerber, Mrs. Floyd Winn, Mrs. Sid Davis and Ira Robbins were Neillsville visitors last Friday.

 

Henry Voight of Milwaukee, after a week’s visit at the Albert Bentz home, returned tot eh city on Saturday.

 

Miss Lydia Yankee, Ora and Maria Davis, Miss Ducklow, Ora Marsh, Lela Potter and Thea Marsh were Neillsville visitors Saturday.

 

The Misses Mertie Lawrence and Claudine Sties of Plymouth, after a 10 day visit at Chas Reed’s, returned home on Friday.

 

Dr. and Mrs. J.H. Brooks, their daughter Jessie and Mrs. Bannister autoing home from Marshfield last week Thursday called on town friends here.

 

Mrs. Eli Heck and twin sons left for Juneau, Watertown, Milwaukee and other state points on a visit early this week.

 

Ben. Baack of Sheboygan Falls, after a ten day visit here with hi uncle Mike Dorst, left for home on Tuesday.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Bruno Dudei and two children went to Friendship alst week Thursday on a week’s visit with Mr. and Mrs. Gust Deutsch.

 

Miss Elsie Twitchell of Chicago, after a several weeks visit between Herbert Fradette’s and other relatives in this vicinity, went home to the city late last week.

 

A crew of carpenters in the railroad employ are making improvements in and about the depot here since late last week.

 

Miss Martha Meyer and Mrs. Skotarzak and two children came from Markesan last Saturday on a week’s visit at Nick Wiernszki’s.

 

Mr. Frank Sutter of Milwaukee is here since last week Thursday visiting in the Wm. Lautenbach and Henry Marg homes.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Myron Osgood entertained the country side hereabouts Tuesday night at a big husking bee and a good feed.  Rella Osgood and Gust Ayers each had one on different nights last week.

 

Mrs. Frank Lockner, with her 7 children, came up from Black River Falls and joined him in their new home on the Doc Ross farm last Saturday.  For the weekend their home sheltered no less than 15 children and 4 grownups, between their family and the Wm. Meddaugh family, the latter family departing on Monday.

 

Mrs. Langdon Nichols and Mrs. John Breese went to Marshfield Friday and spent the day with Mrs. Jennie Graves at the hospital.

 

For some time past farmers in the towns of Fremont and Lynn, near the Harry Eide Cheese Factory, have been complaining of being minus the cream from the milk which is left in cans outdoors for cooling during the night, and so far they have been unable to catch the thief in the act, and last week a complaint was entered with the authorities at Neillsville whereupon Sheriff Hewett, with the aid of a blood hound set out on Friday to find the offender if possible, but without avail.  A certain party is being suspected of doing the work and it is hoped that he will soon fall into the trap which is being set for him.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Paul Roder and two children spent Monday with relatives at Marshfield.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Howard Beaty of Heathville spent Monday at Neillsville.
