Zielke, Delores J. (4 AUG 1962)

On Saturday afternoon, Aug. 4, 1962, at 2 p.m. before an altar lighted with two tapers and decorated by two large bouquets of white hydrangeas, Delores JoAnne Zielke was united in marriage to Mr. Jeffrey F. Miller by the Rev. Henry F. gischen, at the Spirit Evangelical Lutheran Church.  Mrs. Emil Hoffman played the traditional wedding music and Mrs. Gieschen sang two songs during the ceremony, "Oh Perfect Love" and "The Lord is my Shepherd."

The bride was taken up the aisle and given in marriage by her father.  Her gown was of white Chantilly lace over white satin and net.  It had a bateau neckline, tapered pointed bodice, full skirt with a scalloped hemline worn over a hoop.  It had long sleeves coming to a point over her hands.  She had a braided coronet centered by Aurora Borealis stones with six points, three of which were from which fell her elbow length veil.  She wore a wrist corsage of Rmeric and Beauty tea roses and white carnations.

Her two attendants, Mrs. Roger Zielke, Prentice, as matron of honor, and Miss Dorene Viegel, Medford, bridesmaid, were dressed identically in sleeveless pink lace over pink satin with scooped neckline, pink satin cummerbunds.  The dresses were all ballerina length.  The bride’s attendants wore pink and white flowered headpieces and each had a white carnation wrist corsage.

The groom had as his two attendants, Lynn Fillips as best man, and Roger Zielke of Prentice as groomsman.  Mr. Roland Stasek, Owen and Richard Zielke, Ogema, were ushers.

Mrs. Fred Zielke, the bride’s mother, wore a beige dress with white accessories and a corsage of pink roses and carnations.  The groom’s mother, Mrs. Jens Miller, Owen, wore a tan sheath with a lace jacket, beige accessories and a corsage of pink roses and carnations.

The two grandmothers, Mrs. Nelson, Auburn, Calif., and Mrs. George Schamberger, Owen, wore similar corsages.  Mrs. Nelson wore a gold dress and Mrs. Schamberger appeared in blue.

A reception for about 100 guests was held at the home of the bride’s parents.

The bridal party was seated at a table with a beautiful 3-tiered wedding cake as a centerpiece.  The rest of the gathering was served buffet style.  Miss Kathy Waszyiewicz was in charge of opening gifts and displaying them.  Mrs. Roger Zielke, Prentice, was in charge of the gift and guest list.

The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Fred Zielke, R.1, Ogema.  The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jens Miller of Owen (Clark Co., Wis.).

The newlyweds went on a 5 day honeymoon to northern Wisconsin, Michigan, across the bridge and down to southern Wisconsin, and are now at home in Owen awaiting the completion of their new home, now under construction.
