Hinz, Walter (? - 23 June 1964)

 

Funeral services were conducted Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the Grace Lutheran Church in Nasonville for Walter Hinz, 69, of Rt. 1 Chili, who died June 23, in Neillsville.  The Rev. Philip K. Mueller officiated. Burial was made in Grafton.  Committal services were conducted by the Rev. Edgar Milleville.

 

Mr. Hinz, a well-known area cheesemaker was born September 2, 1894, in Adell.  He received his education in the Adell schools and attended Badger State Business College and the Milwaukee Motor School.  He was married January 15, 1919, in Withee to the former Emma Nierode.

 

He was an instructor at the summer session at the University of Wisconsin in Madison, where he experimented with cheese production.  He lived at Withee, where he operated a cheese factory, later moving to Prairie Farm and Marshfield.  IN 1929 he moved to the Town of Lynn.

 

He is survived by his wife; a son, Wallace of Waukesha; a daughter, Mrs. Virginia Schroeder of Mondovi; three brothers, Elmer of Sheboygan, Emil of Adell and Harry of Plymouth; and seven grandchildren.

 

Funeral arrangements were made by the Gilbertson Funeral Home of Granton.
