Laabs, Glenzer "Glenn" (19 DEC 1905 - 12 MAR 1962)

The Curtiss (Clark Co., Wis.) community was saddened Monday morning when the Laabs brothers learned of the sudden death of their brother, Glenzer (Glenn), 56, of Concordia, Mo.  His death was attributed to a heart attack.

Members of the families left yesterday morning, driving to Sullivan, Ind., where the funeral services are being held this afternoon.

Born Dec. 19, 1905, at Smithfield, Utah, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Fred Laabs, he spent much of his early life in Curtiss.  There he attended grade school and alter both the Abbotsford and Colby high school systems.  He then, like the rest of the Laabs family, followed his father’s steps in the cheese business, being affiliated with Laabs Cheese and Dairy until about 30 years ago, when he left the community.

He was married in 1944 at Sullivan, Ind., to his widow.  For the past 15 years the family lived at Concordia, Mo., where he served as president and manager of Tri Foods Company.  He was an active civic leader in his community and in the Masonic Lodge.

Mourning his sorrowful loss are his wife and daughter; five brothers, Herman, Springfield, Mo.; Harold, Tomah; Bernard, Abbotsford; and Orville and Arthur, Curtiss; and one sister, Mernabelle Pease, Bay City, Mich.
