Fritz, Reva (27 DEC 1961)

Red and white poinsettias adorned the altar at the First Congregational Church in Owen when Miss Reva Fritz, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elton J. Fritz of route 2, Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), became the bride of A 2/c Harry G. Hanson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Iver Hanson of route 3, Arcadia.  The Rev. Ralph Claybaugh performed the 2:00 o’clock ceremony on Wednesday, Dec. 27, 1961, and was given in marriage by her father.

The bride chose a gown of white delustered satin, princess style, with long sleeves decorated with lace appliques which accented the bodice and skirt.  She wore a crown of crystals and rhinestones, with a veil of silk illusion and carried a bouquet of red roses and white carnations with holly leaves.

During the ceremony David Jalonic sang "Wedding Prayer" and "The Lord’s Prayer," being accompanied by Miss Ellen Grapes of Knapp at the organ.

The maid of honor was Miss Laurie Fritz, sister of the bride, with Miss Lila Hanson, the groom’s sister, as bridesmaid.  They wore identical red velveteen sheaths which had matching organza overskirts, and carried white fur muffs trimmed with red poinsettias and holly leaves.  Their headbands were of matching fur.

Attending the groom was Charles Hanson, brother of the groom, as best man, and Roger Houth of Minneapolis, the other attendant.  The ushers were Larry Gilbertson of Arcadia and Larry Fritz of Owen.

Immediately following the ceremony a reception was held in the church dining room.

Out of town guests came from Wausau, Madison, Minneapolis, Winona, Arcadia, Knapp, Menomonie, Colby and Eau Claire.

The bride is a graduate of the Owen-Withee High School and attends Stout Institute at Menomonie.
