Fricke, Barbara (05 OCT 1957)

Now at home following a honeymoon in the northern states and Canada are Alan Dale Langfeldt and his bride of Oct. 5, the former Barbara Catherine Fricke, who repeated their marriage vows in St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Loyal.

The Rev. Norbert King performed the double-ring ceremony and was celebrant at the 10 o’clock Nuptial High Mass for the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Fricke and the son of Mr. and Mrs. Max Langfeldt.

Chantilly lace and tulle over satin fashioned the gown donned by the bride, who was presented in marriage by her father.Long sleeves and a bodice topped with a mandarin collar detailed the gown’s lace bodice, while tiers of nylon tulle ruffles over satin formed the bouffant waltz-length skirt. A headpiece of pleated net entwined with pearls secured her veil and in her hand she carried a blue orchid surrounded with white mums and stephanotis.

French blue ballerina-length gowns were donned by the bridal aides-Mrs. Robert Langfeldt, Loyal, the groom’s sister-in-law, as matron of honor, and Miss Diane Sherman, Wisconsin Rapids, as bridesmaid. Shirred sleeves and scoop necklines detailed the bodices that rose above the full skirts. Their headpieces were fashioned of white Fugi mums and blue net. White mums composed their bouquets.

Robert Langfeldt served his brother as best man, and a cousin, Larary Rueth, was groomsman. Ushering duties were under the supervision of Gilbert Beaver, Eau Claire, an uncle of the bride, and Tom Wirkus, brother-in-law of the groom.

Completing the wedding party were Debra Beaver, Eau Claire, a cousin of the bride as flower girl and David Fricke, a brother of the bride as ring bearer. The former’s frock featured a colillion blue velvet bodice topping a gathered skirt of light blue tulle over taffeta.

After the reception, members of the immediate families met at the Casa Loma for dinner followed by a reception in St. Anthony’s Hall in Loyal. Dancing at Merry Ol’ Gardens concluded the day’s celebration.

Both are graduates of Loyal High School, She with the class of ’57 and he a year earlier. Since graduation, she was employed in the law office of Rhyner, Hosek and Zappen in Marshfield. They will reside in Loyal, where the groom is engaged in construction work with his father.

Guests from away were from Eau Claire, Milwaukee, Green Bay, Wausau, Colby, Wisconsin Rapids, Marshfield, Greenwood and Watkins, Minn.
