Jensen, Christine A. (21 OCT 1961)

On Saturday, Oct. 21, 1961, Miss Christine Ann Jensen became the bride of Donald Melvin Berge at a 2:00 o’clock ceremony performed at Nazareth Lutheran Church in Withee.  The Rev. Beryl Knudsen performed the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Fidelia Jensen of Owen and the groom, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Berge of Stanley.

Miss Louise Hanson provided the music and Miss Diane Burhop sang "O Promise Me" and "The Wedding Prayer" during the ceremony.

The bride’s chapel length gown of Chantilly lace and tulle over taffeta was fashioned with rows of ruffled tulle down the front of the bouffant skirt.  The V shaped fitted bodice was trimmed at the high straight neckline with sequins and tiny pearls and had tapered sleeves.  Her fingertip veil of English illusion was caught to a crown of pearls.  She carried a horseshoe shaped bouquet of red roses and white carnations.

Miss Carol Kangas, Owen, appeared in the wedding party as maid of honor.  Miss Beverly Orth of Owen, and Miss Diane Berge, Stanley, were bridesmaids.  They all wore street length lilac dresses of organdy and carried horseshoe boquets of yellow roses and white pompons.

Debby Kolor, Milwaukee, was flower girl, and Marvin Williams, Neillsville, ring bearer.

Attending the groom were Leonard Berge, Neenah, as best man, with groomsmen, Norman Johnson of Stanley, and Frank Jensen, Corpus Christi, Texas.

Ushers were Alvin Johnson, Stanley, and Floyd Bowen, Owen.

Wedding events were a reception in the church hall and a dance in the American Legion Hall, Owen.

Mr. Berge is a postal clerk in the Milwaukee Post Office and the young couple will live in Milwaukee at 1346 N. 45th St.
