Buss, Lillian E. (21 APR 1921 - 15 DEC 2011)

 

Lillian E. Buss, 90, of Abbotsford passed away Thursday, Dec. 15, 2011, at her residence in the Town of Holton. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 19, 2011, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Milan. Pastor Jeff Lambrecht will officiate. A visitation will be held Monday from 9 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Burial will follow the service at Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery, Milan. 

Lillian was born April 22, 1921, to Albert and Ida (Wienaudt) Venzke in the Township of Holton. She was baptized May 8, 1921, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Milan. She attended Berry Grade School and transferred to Milan Grade School until eighth grade. After schooling she worked as a housekeeper in Milwaukee. On August 28, 1943, Lillian was united in marriage to Chester Buss at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Milan. Lillian and Chester owned and operated a farm in the Town of Holton where she helped run the farm until 1985. She was a loving mother, homemaker, grandmother and great-grandmother. Lillian was a lifetime member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Milan, where she had the same pew every Sunday. 

Lillian enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, bird watching and working on the farm with her husband. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially Sunday dinners.

Lillian is lovingly survived by her husband, Chester Buss of Abbotsford; son, Russell (Shirley) Buss of Athens and grandchildren, Warren Buss of Abbotsford Patricia (Shane) Hammel of Abbotsford, and John Baeten of DePere. She is further survived by great-grandchildren, Zackary Buss-Brusky, Isaac, Olivia and Ashton Hammel; sisters, Irene (Phil) Wire of Dublin, Calif., Beatrice (Leroy) Engelking of Brookfield and sister-in-law, Jeanette Venzke of Denison, Iowa.

Lillian is preceded in death by her parents, one granddaughter Cheryl Baeten, one grandson Gary Buss, brothers, Clarence and Laverne Venzke and sister, Janet Bahr.

Lillian's family would like to thank the Ministry Home Care Hospice for the wonderful care she received.

The Maurina Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford is assisting the family with funeral arrangements
