Gulcynski, Darlene (17 OCT 1959)

Miss Darlene Gulcynski, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Gulcynski of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), and Donald Mikolainis, son of Mr. and Mrs. Casey Mikolainis, Withee (Clark Co.), were united in marriage on Saturday, Oct. 17, 1959 at a 10 o’clock nuptial Mass.  The double ring ceremony was performed by Father Disher at St. Hedwig’s Church.

The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a floor length gown of appliqued and embroidered nylon tulle over ivory satin.  The semi-scoop neckline and long tapered sleeves were accented with sequins.  A tiara of orange blossoms held her fingertip veil edged in lace.  She carried a prayer book bouquet of white carnations and stephanotis with white scrimmers.

Miss Diane Gulcynski, sister of the bride, acted as flower girl.  She wore a dress identical to the bride’s.  Both dresses were made and designed by the bride herself.  David Gulcynski, brother of the bride, acted as ring bearer.  He was dressed identical to the groom, with white dinner jacket and dark trousers.

Miss Jolanta Mikolainis, sister of the groom, was maid of honor.  She wore a coral colored ballerina length dress of embroidered nylon sheer cummerbunds.  Bridesmaids were Miss Claire Hamerla and Miss Josie Glenetski, both of Wausau, friends of the bride.  They wore identical dresses as the maid of honor.  Miss Lou Ann Gulcynski, sister of the bride, acted as junior bridesmaid.  She wore a cotillion blue, fashioned identical to the bridemaids.  Each wore straw braid coronets with pearl drop trim.  They carried bouquets of carnations to match the color of their gowns.

Attending the groom was Kenneth Micke, Gilman, a friend of the groom, Donald Gulcynski, brother of the bride, and James Skrzenta, cousin of the groom.  They wore light blue dinner jackets with dark trousers.

Ushers were Bob Gulcynski, cousin of the bride, and Ron Eklund, cousin of the groom.

The mother of the bride chose a pink embroidered pea de sac dress, pink rose buds in her corsage.  The groom’s mother chose a med blue crepe dress with pink rose buds corsage.  Both mothers wore white accessories.

The ceremony was followed by a dinner.  A reception was held at 5:30 p.m. for over 500 guests at the St. Hedwig’s Parish Hall.

After a wedding trip the couple will reside at 1232 Florence Ave., Evanston, Ill.

The groom attended the Wausau Vocation School and is now employed as a machinist.  The bride, a graduate of St. Mary’s School of Nursing, Wausau, has been employed at the Stanley Memorial Hospital.

Out of town guests came from Chicago, Duluth, Minneapolis, So. St. Paul, Pittsburg, Wausau, Madison, Argyle, Minn., Stanley, Greenwood, Huron, Strandquist and Evanston.
