Burzynski, Geraldine (26 SEP 1959)

Pom Poms and carnations decorated the altar at St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church in Thorp Saturday the 26th of September, 1959, when Geraldine Burzynski, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Burzynski Jr., repeated vows with roger Beier, son of Mrs. Emma Beier of Beloit, in a double ring ceremony performed by Father Disher.  The Wedding March was played by organist Al Ciolkosz, and St. Hedwig’s choir sang.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a floor length gown of white Chantilly lace, her fingertip veil trimmed with Chantilly lace, fell from her sequin crown.  She carried a heart shaped bouquet of pink roses bordered with white lilies, with an orchid in the center.  She wore, as a gift from the groom, white pearls and matching earrings.

The bride was attended by Miss Angeline Fasnacht, friend of the bride.  Other attendants were Miss Gail Burzynski, sister of the bride, Mrs. Donald Beier, sister-in-law, and Miss Carolyn Bobb, friend of the bride.  Their gowns were identical blue with matching jackets, headpieces and veils.  They carried bouquets of blue and white carnations.  They wore identical necklaces and earrings, gifts of the bride.

Two little flower girls, Karen Konieczny and Donna Dahm, both cousins of the bride, attended her in identical dresses of white ruffles and laces.  They wore pearl necklaces and bracelets, gifts of the bride.  Their white crowns were identical of satin braid.  They carried bouquets identical to the bride.

Attending the groom was Mrs. Lawrence Beier, brother of the groom.  Other attendants were Mr. Gary Brown, nephew of the groom, Mr. Donald Beier, brother of the groom, and Mr. Donald Dahm, cousin of the bride.  They wore white carnations.  The groom and his attendants wore white jackets and black trousers, including the father of the bride.

The mother of the bride attended her daughter’s wedding in a dress of blue with a corsage of pink and white roses.  The groom’s mother also wore a blue dress with an identical corsage.  The bride’s grandmother, Mrs. George Burzynski Sr., also wore a corsage of white carnations.

The beautiful four tier wedding cake decorated with blue roses, was baked by Mrs. Kenneth Bobb.

The wedding dinner for the immediate family was held at the American Legion Hall following Mass.

A reception from 2 until 5 p.m., was held for approximately 125 guests with a free wedding dance in the evening.  Music was furnished by the Jolly Polkateers.

The newlyweds left on their honeymoon through the Badlands and the Black Hills.

They will be at home to their many friends at 1911 Dewey Ave., Beloit, Wis.

Out of town guests who attended the wedding were from Beloit, Chicago, St. Charles, Stanley. Allenton, Boyd, Theresa, Chippewa Falls, Wausau and Gilman.
