Miller, Vernon (31 DEC 1926 - 30 JUN 1959)

 

Funeral services for Vernon Miller, who was fatally injured in an auto accident last Tuesday evening, were held on Friday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock at the Stanley Brethren Church with the Rev. Ernest Detrich officiating.  Interment was made in the Worden Brethren Cemetery.

 

He was born in the Town of Worden in Clark County on Dec. 31, 1926, the son of Joseph and Irene Miller, and graduated from Stanley High School in 1944.  He married Vera Gadke in Stanley on Sept. 4, 1948.  He served two years with the U.S. Army in Japan.

 

He farmed in the Town of Worden and was a cheesemaker at the South Stanley Diary for three years, had lived in Eidsvold and in the Town of Delmar and had been residing at Cadott at the time of death, where he had been employed by Hamm’s Dairy of Cadott.

 

Surviving are his wife, four children, Gary, Sandra, Kenneth and Linda, his parents, two brothers, Ray of Lewisburg, Kansas, and Donald of Stanley, and five sisters, Mrs. Wilfred (Fern) Shilts of Boyd; Mrs. Art (Mable) Rixford of Chippewa Falls; Mrs. Cecil (Pearl) Hanson of Chippewa Falls; Mrs. Lawrence (Evelyn) Henke of Owen and Mrs. June Phillippe of Chicago.
