Hinker, JoAnn Catherine (Marriage –1963)

On July 27, Miss JoAnn Catherine Hinker and Lester John Kaiser were married in St. Mary’s Catholic Church at Greenwood by Rev. Augustine C. Baro.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sylvester Hinker of Rt. 1 Greenwood, and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Myron Kaiser of Rt. 1, Stratford.

The girls of St. Mary’s sang for the nuptial mass.  The altar was adorned with bouquets of white gladioli.

Miss Hinker was given in marriage by her father. She wore a floor-length gown of Chantilace over bridal taffeta, featuring a scalloped neckline and long, tapered sleeves buttoned at the wrist.  From the Basque bodice flowed a very bouffant floor-length skirt, adorned with tiers of scalloped lace.  The ensemble was completed by a crown in Cleopatra styling, made of imported seed pearls and completed by a bouffant fingertip veil. The bride carried a bouquet of red roses and white stephanotis.

Maid of honor was the groom’s sister, Miss Valeria Kaiser of Stratford; and bridesmaids, also sisters of the groom, were Veronica Kaiser, Corrine Kaiser and Marietta Kaiser.  They all wore ballerina gowns of two-tone blue nylon organza. The fitted bodices were styled with softly shaped scoop necklines and cap sleeves.  The circular, fully shirred skirts were enhanced with a deeper tone blue flowing back panel from a rose at the neckline.

Each wore a deep blue headpiece with halo veils and carried bouquets of white carnations tipped with blue.

James Hinker, Greenwood, brother of the bride, was bestman. Groomsmen were Louis Cota of Mason City, Ia.; John Weyer of Loyal; and Allen Hinker of Greenwood.

Ushers were Ronald Hinker of Wausau and Donald Kaiser of Stratford.

After the double ring ceremony a dinner and supper took place in St. Mary’s Church hall in Greenwood, and a reception was held at the bride’s home from 2 to 4:30. a wedding dance was held at Rozellville.

The bride is a graduate of St. Mary’s School and Greenwood High School in 1959.  She was employed in Marshfield. The groom was graduated from schools in Stratford and is employed in that city.
