Hegenbarth, Edwin Henry (24 April 1897 - 7 July 1963)

Edwin Henry Hegenbarth, 66, Greenwood, died Sunday afternoon at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield, where he had been a surgical patient.

Mr. Hegenbarth, son of William and Katherine (Tasto) Hegenbarth, was born April 24, 1897, at Rock Rapids, Ia.  He was married to Hattie Thompson Hanson February 28, 1921, at Cashton by the Rev. Mr. Ekerud.

After their marriage the Hegenbarths farmed in the Monroe County area and moved to Greenwood in the fall of 1930, where he farmed on the Bronson and Wuethrich farms, moving into Greenwood in 1951, he then worked for Larry Simpson and was presently employed at the Stewart Cheese Factory.

He was confirmed in 1939 at United Lutheran Church, now Our Savior’s Lutheran Church of Greenwood, of which he was a member of its Men’s Brotherhood and a former council member.

Surviving are his wife, Hattie, four daughters, Mrs. Donald (Minerva) Sorenson of Milwaukee, Mrs. Ronald (Leona) Tieman of Greenwood, Mrs. Marvin (Catherine) Karlen of Stanley, and Mrs. Maurice (Esther) Nielsen of Oregon, Wis.; two sisters, Mrs. Francis (Viola) Harris of Milwaukee; Mrs. Joseph (Lillian) Konkl of Rice Lake; two brothers, Jennings of Rice Lake, and Oswald of Barron; and eight grandchildren.

Funeral services were to be held Wednesday afternoon from Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Arvid Myhrwold officiating.  Burial was to be made in the Greenwood Cemetery.
