Kaminski, John V. (6 APR 1895 - 23 FEB 1959)

 

John Victor Kaminski, 63, Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), died Monday morning, Feb. 23, 1959 during surgery at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, where he was taken Feb. 16 after being hit by a train on his way to work at the Post Company at Owen.

 

Funeral services were held this Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s in Junction, with the Rev. Edward Masalewicz officiating.  Burial was made in the church cemetery.

 

Mr. Kaminski was born in Budapest, Hungary, April 6, 1895.  He came to America with his parents at the age of four, and settled in Cleveland, Ohio.  When he was a young man they moved to a farm in Thorp Township, in the area known as Junction.

 

He married Madeline Ignasiak at Neillsville on July 13, 1918, while in the services and after World War I moved to Milwaukee.  He lived there until 1950, when he went to Owen and operated a motel until 1954.  Since selling the motel he had worked for the Post company at Owen.  Mrs. Kaminski preceded him in death April 5, 1954.

 

He was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church at Owen.

 

The survivors are one son, Herbert Kaminski, Milwaukee; one daughter, Gertrude, no Mrs. Joseph Korpal of Green Bay; one brother, Peter of Cleveland, Ohio; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Grundberg, Chicago, Ill., Mrs. Ethel Snyder, Hollywood, Fla., and 10 grandchildren.
