Schoengarth, Rhoda (13 July 1906– 27 May 1964)

 

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon from the Georgas Funeral Home for Mrs. Albert (Rhoda) Schoengarth, 57, of Neillsville, who died here May 27, following an illness of several months. The Rev. W. C. Koehler of the United Church of Christ officiated. Burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

 

Mrs. Schoengarth, the former Rhoda Davis, was born July 13, 1906, in the Town of York.  Her parents were Mr. and Mrs. John (Pleysa Griffith) Davis.  She received her education in Clark County schools and with the exception of four years when she resided in Milwaukee, she had been a resident of this area most of her life.

 

On October 27, 1927, she was married to Albert Schoengarth in Neillsville.

 

Mrs. Schoengarth is survived by her husband; two sons, Harris and Gayle, both of Neillsville, a daughter, Bonnie, at home; five grandchildren; and her mother, Mrs. Pleysa Davis of Neillsville. She is also survived by two brothers, William "Billy" Davis of Neillsville and Morris Davis of Chicago, Ill.

 

Pallbearers were Forrest Gault, A. C. Janke, Albert Meihak, Wayne Bush, David T. Smith and Elmer J. Tubbs.

 

"Beyond the Sunset" and "Whispering Hope" were sung by Mrs. W. C. Koehler, accompanied by Dorothy Scott.

 

People from out of town attending were: Morris Davis of Chicago, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Griffith, Mrs. Henry Griffith and Miss Celesta Joy Griffith of Rosendale; Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Wifler and Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Wifler of Sheboygan; Mr. and Mrs. Norael Garvin of Tigerton, Mrs. Effie Garvin of Montello; Mrs. Algen Kiersen, Frank Schoengarth and Mr. and Mrs. Merlan Schoengarth of Merrillan.

 

From Greenwood were: Mrs. Edith Schoengarth, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Schoengarth and Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Walker.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Ross Downer of Granton; Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Bush of Milwaukee, Mr. and Mrs. David T. Smith of Loyal, and Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Tubbs of Eau Claire.
