Giese, Annamay (03 MAY 1918-29 SEPT 2011)

 

Annamay Giese, 93, formerly of the Loyal / Ripplinger area, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Sept. 29, 2011, at Pine Ridge Assisted Living, Colby, under the tender care f hospice. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., on Monday, Oct. 3, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Spencer. Rev. David Depaoli officiated. Burial was held in the St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery.

 

Annamay Madderom was born on May 3, 1918, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Nicholas and Susan (nee DeYoung) Madderom. She married Edward Giese in April 1941 in Chicago, Ill. In 1984, they moved to Loyal/Ripplinger area to live with their son, Eddie. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Spencer. She also liked to cook and bake, especially her homemade pies. She was a truly uplifting woman.

 

She is lovingly survived by her three children, Sandra (Robert) Sporleder, New Buffalo, Mich., William (Nanette) Giese, Wausau, and Eddie (Sue) Giese, Loyal; four grandchildren, Cynthia Giese, Beloit, William Giese, Wausau, Melissa (Bert) Gonnella, Dyer, Ind., and Bradely (Britt) Sporleder, Albany, N.Y.; two great-grandchildren, Kara and Kayla Gonnella; a brother, Jim (Delores) Madderom, Salem, Ore.; and nieces and nephews.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Nicholas and Susan, her husband, Edward, in 1992; and seven brothers and sisters. She will truly be missed.
