Greenwood (16 May 1963)

 

Edwin Franz left Tuesday for Rochester, Minn.  Mrs. Franz left Saturday to be with her husband.

 

The Salem Ladies Aid Society met Wednesday at the home of Mrs. Albert Wessel, with Mrs. Albert Franz presiding.  The Rev. Orval Egbert continued the catechism lesson.  Following the meeting cancer pads were sewn by members and guests. The next hostesses will be Mrs. Otto Horn, Mrs. George Poppe and Mrs. Ida Horn. The date will be announced later.

 

Mrs. Minnie Cox entertained members of the Canasta Club Wednesday afternoon.

 

Darwin Arthur, infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Franz, was baptized by the Rev. Orval Egbert Sunday morning in Immanuel United Church.  Dinner and supper guests at the Horn home were the sponsors, Mr. and Mrs. Darrel Horn and daughter, Denise, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Franz, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Horn, the Rev. and Mrs. Orval Egbert, all of Greenwood; Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Hutchins and son, Mrs. Anna Hutchins and Mrs. Iva Foelske, all of Loyal; and Mr. and Mrs. Ray Binning and family of Unity.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Chester Daines of Thorp were Sunday dinner guests at the Henry Keller home. Over night guests were Mr. and Mrs. Albert Ayne of Mac Farland.

 

Mr. and Mrs. William Kuester observed their 49th wedding anniversary Tuesday evening by entertaining their children, Mr. and Mrs. Leon Kuester and Miss Loretta Kuester.

 

Mrs. Christ Keiner was honored by her children and grandchildren on Mother’s Day a the Hugh Severson home.  Those present were: Mr. and Mrs. Carl Keiner and Mrs. Mary Kensmoe and son, Tommy, of Eau Claire; Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Gotz of Pittsville; Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Leberg and children, Bruce and Kim, of Wisconsin Rapids; Mrs. Henry Keiner, Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Severson and daughter, Carol, and Miss Louise Keiner.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Elmer entertained at their home Mother’s Day.  Guests were their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Krames of Loyal and Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Elmer.  Others were Dolores and Charles Kramer and Verlan Hammer.

 

Dorothy Kippenhan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Kippenhan underwent an appendectomy Thursday at Memorial Hospital in Neillsville.
