A double ring ceremony on Oct. 11, 1958, at St. Camilla’s Church, 5430 S. Lockwood, Chicago, Ill., performed by Rev. Joseph Malkowski united Miss Bernadine Potaczek, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Steve Potaczek of Chicago and Mr. Lawrence Staron, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Staron of Stanley, Wis., formerly of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), at the 11:00 o’clock nuptial Mass.  The altar for the lovely October wedding was decorated with white gladiolas and white mums.

 

The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a becoming white gown of clip Chantilly lace over skinner satin, embroidered with seed pearls and sequins.  It featured a drapsquare neckline and long sleeves, pointed at the wrists.  The very bouffant skirt, brought out by a ruffled six tier hoop, was fashioned in pleated cascade effect front.  The back was designed in petal effect of pleated nylon tulle, embroidered in sequins, ending in a train, which was snapped into a bustle for the evening festivities.  Her Norman Princess crown held in place fingertip illusion veiling.  She carried an irregular shaped bouquet containing white stephanotis and streamers, centered with three white orchids.  She wore pearl earrings and carried a sterling rosary which was presented to her by the groom.

 

The bride chose three girlfriends as her attendants, Miss Nancy Bileadeu was maid of honor.  Miss Theresa Dziedzic and Miss Patricia Czochara, were bridesmaids.  They wore sapphire blue sheaths with harem overskirts and matching velveteen headpieces with blushers.  To complete their attire, the bride presented them with baby pearl and earring sets and white gloves.  They carried star shaped bouquets of white Fuji mum and green ivy.

 

The bride chose Rochelle Nyckel, a niece and godchild of the groom, as her flower girl.  She wore a cotillion blue modified harem dress with a matching velveteen headpiece and short veil.  She carried a basket of Fuji and button mums.  She received a medal necklace and white gloves from the bride.

 

Eugene Potaczek, brother of the bride, was ring bearer.  He wore a midnight blue tuxedo with a white carnation in the chapel.  He received a tie clasp and cufflinks from the groom.

 

The groom chose his brother, Edward, as best man.  Also attending was Richard Potchak, the grooms cousin.  Both attendants wore midnight blue tuxedoes with a carnation in their lapels.  Their gifts from the groom were wallets.  The groom also wore a midnight blue tuxedo with a stephanotis boutonniere.

 

The bride’s mother attire was an aqua dress with black accessories.  The groom’s mother chose a navy blue crepe.  Both had white orchid corsages.  The bride’s godmother, Mrs. Leo Chmiel and her grandmothers, Mrs. Agnes Gawron and Mrs. Sebastian Potaczek wore corsages of white mums.

 

At the closing of the Mass, the bride place a bouquet of white mums and whit stephanotis at the Blessed Virgin altar while the hymn "On This Day Oh Beautiful Mother" was sung by the choir.

 

Following the ceremony a breakfast was served to the immediate family.  An evening reception was held at Knights of Columbus Hall, 4826 S. Pulaski, Chicago, to about 350 guests.  Music was furnished by Joe Jarosz and his orchestra.

 

The bride is a graduate of Our Lady of Laudres School and was employed at Sears, Roebuck and Co. as a statistician.  The groom graduated from Stanley High in Stanley, Wis., also from the University of Wisconsin with a degree in Civil Engineering.  He was discharge recently from the U.S. Army after serving two years at Fort Sill, Okla.  The groom is employed with the U.S. Bureau of Public Roads.

 

The newlyweds took a trip through the New England states.

 

The guests from out of Chicago and vicinity were: Mr. and Mrs. Walter Pogodzinski and family, Mrs. Sebastian Potaczek, Mrs. Sylvester Potaczek, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Bania and family of Thorp, Wis., Mr. Al Potaczek of Tomahawk, Wis., Mr. and Mrs. Albert Potaczek and daughter, Joan and Mr. and Mrs. Mike Potchak of Cadott, Wis., Mr. and Mrs. James Smoczyk, Mrs. Ed Smoczyk and son, Bob, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Staron and Mr. and Mrs. Pete Slowiak of Stanley, Wis., Mr. bob Seidl and Miss Darlene Lindner of Milwaukee, Wis.
