Bertz, Genevieve (22 JUNeE 1957)

Miss Genevieve Theresa Bertz and Philip St. Onge exchanged nuptial vows on Saturday, June 22, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. Officiating at the rites was the bride’s brother, the Rev. Father Edward Bertz. Following the 11 a.m. ceremony a dinner was served in St. Anthony’s dining hall, and an informal reception was held at the home of the bride’s mother, Mrs. Edward Bertz, Loyal, where the gifts were displayed.

A high neckline, surrounded by a border of nylon embroidery, detailed the bride’s gown of white imported tulle over taffeta. The large, billowy, dotted tulle sleeves extended from the shoulders and terminated a few inches above the wrists. The floor-length hoped skirt also repeated at intervals the motif of nylon flowered embroidery in encircling bands. Small nylon embroidered flowers intermingled with seed pearls trimmed the small cloche to which was secured her finger-tip veil of illusion. A large orchid, centering lily-of-the-valley, was carried by the bride.

Lilac baby orchids and lily of the valley fashioned the halo crowns and the nosegay bouquets of the bride’s attendants. Their waltz length gowns were of white organdy with lilac cummerbunds and lilac embroidery trimmed bodice and skirt. Miss CaroleBertz, Milwaukee, was her sister’s maid of honor. The groom’s sister, Mrs. Richard Seelen, Milwaukee, and Miss Connie Bertz, Winnabago, and Miss Maryellen Bertz, Loyal, both sisters of the bride were bridesmaids.

The groom chose his brother-in-law, Richard Seelen for his best man. His other attendants were Frank H? and Felix D Feinza? Milwaukee (copy not readable) Thomas Bertz, St. Paul? seated the guests.

A light blue ? street length dress was worn by the bride’s mother and Mrs. Philip St. Onge. Milwaukee, mother of the groom, wore a rose-beige faille and chiffon sheath dress. Both wore white accessories and corsage of white orchids.

St. Anthony’s choir with Mrs. E. M. Trnka as organist, furnished the music for the service.

The bride is a graduate of Mount Mary College and is employed as a medical technologist for the Milwaukee Health Department.

The groom has attended the University of Wisconsin and is presently attending Marquette University. He is a draftsman for the Electronic Division of General Motors, Milwaukee. When they return from a honeymoon in Florida, they will live in Milwaukee.

Wedding guests came from Escanaba and Marquette Michigan, Evanston, Illinois, Oconto, Athens, La Crosse, Withee, Greenwood, Milwaukee, Norway, Hartford, Medford, Edgerton, Marshfield, Winnabago, Green Bay and Waupun.
