The village was shocked and saddened by the death of Sam Finn.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Roger Sherman of West Salem spent a day recently with Mrs. Leslie Sherman and Harvey.

 

Mrs. Charles Neilson and Miss Alvina Linder spent Sunday in Tomah with Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Neilson.

 

Mrs. Harry Cooper, Sr., Harry, Jr., and family, Alvin and Bob Cooper, Mrs. Evie Cooper, Mrs. Gary Cooper, Mrs. Loren Waller and son and Mrs. Donna Granlund, all of Beloit, were here to attend the funeral of Sam Finn.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Leland Duxbury called in Eau Claire last Monday.

 

The Merrillan study club is sponsoring a party for all of the Girl Scouts Saturday.

 

Mrs. Madeline Perrson spent Saturday in Eau Claire.

 

Several Merrillan folks attended Lenten services in the Methodist Church in Black River Falls Wednesday evening, and heard Missionary Hyrengki Lew of Korea speak. The Merrillan choir joined the Black River choir for that service.

 

Mr. and Mrs. William Sollberger of Columbia spent Friday with Mrs. Leslie Sherman.

 

Mrs. Madeline Perrson, Mrs. Roy Loomis, Mrs. Vivian Kearney and Mrs. Robert Linder attended the funeral of Dr. Negaard Sunday afternoon.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Blodgett and Mrs. William Horner of Eau Claire were Sunday visitors of Mr. and Mrs. George Hoffman.

 

Mrs. Mildred Olson spent the weekend in Madison visiting Mrs. Elva Wold.
