Masik, Carol (13 MAY 1958)

On Saturday, May 13, 1958 at St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church at Thorp, Carol Masik became the bride of Thomas Morin.  The double ring ceremony was performed by Rev. Francis Piekarski oat 11 o’clock a.m., and a nuptial mass followed.

Carol is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rudy Kokaly of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.) and the groom’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Russell Morin of Marinette, Wis.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a floor length gown with Chantilly lace bodice and peplum over the full taffeta bell-shaped skirt made with an overskirt of net.  Her shoulder length veil was attached to a crown of Chantilly lace matching the bodice set with tiny seed pearls and she carried an orchid with lilies of the valley on a prayer book.

Attending the bride were Janice Jacques of Marshfield and Yvonne Krupa of Milwaukee, friends of the bride, and Bonny Masik, sister of the bride, as junior bridesmaid wearing emerald green taffeta sheaths with an overskirt of Nile green nylon flocked with white polka dots.  Matching hats, white accessories, pearl necklace and earrings, a gift of the bride, completed their ensembles.  The bridesmaids carried cascade bouquets of white daisies.  The flower girl, Lydia Vitort, a cousin of the bride, of Stanley, Wis., wore a short white frock made similar to that of the bride.  Danny Morin, the groom’s brother, served as ring bearer wearing a white dinner jacket, the same as the groom’s attendants.

Attending the groom were his friends: Lawrence Hoowachi of Kalamazoo, Mich. and Dennis Nelson of Marinette, Wis.  Serving as ushers were: George Garble, a friend of Milwaukee and Joe Morin, a brother of Marinette. Wis.

The bride’s mother wore a blue print dress with yellow accessories and the groom’s mother wore beige and brown and they had corsages of white carnations.  The grandmother, Mrs. Joseph Vitort of Stanley, Wis., and Mrs. Joseph Masik of Chicago, and an aunt, Mary Masik of Chicago, were also honored with corsages.

The wedding dinner and reception were held at the American Legion Hall for guests numbering 100.

The newlyweds left for Hammond, Ind. where the groom is employed, and will make their home there.
