Soborowicz, Lucille (26 APR 1958)

Miss Lucille Soborowicz, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Victor Soborowicz of Withee (Clark Co., Wis.), became the bride of Roger L. Hoffman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harley Hoffman, of Thorp, in a double ring ceremony performed by the Rev. Francis Piekarski at St. Hedwig’s Church here at ten o’clock Saturday morning, April 26th, 1958.

The couple was attended by Arnold Hoffman, the groom’s brother of Chippewa Falls and Shirley Rasmussen of Greenwood.  Rheta Hoffman, the groom’s sister, was bridesmaid, and Ray Soborowicz, brother of the bride, acted as usher.

The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, was attired in floor length gown with a short sweep and made of silk shantung with scooped neckline edged with lace.  She wore a fitted bodice and her wedding bouquet was Easter lilies.

Miss Rasmussen and Miss Hoffman were attired in blue embossed taffeta cocktail dresses with scooped neckline and shoes to match.  They wore white feather hats and short white gloves.

The bride’s sister, Marlene, served as flower girl.

A reception was given at 6:00 p.m. at the American Legion Hall by the bride’s parents, where dinner was served.  The wedding cake, made by the bride’s sister, was decorated with a likeness of the Blessed Mother holding a rosary which encircled the bride and groom.

The newlyweds spent their honeymoon in northern Wisconsin and upper Michigan and are now making their home in Thorp.

Both the bride and groom are graduates of Thorp High School and the bride attended St. Joseph’s School of Nursing at Marshfield.  The groom is employed at the Hoffman Dairy here.
