W.H. Ritchy of Eau Claire was here this week to look over some white oak timber for a yacht for Mr. Star.  This was the only place in the state where it can be found.

The farmers of this place are all busy hauling bolts and cord wood.

About a dozen of the young people gathered at H. Pietenpol’s last Sunday evening.

Miss Bundy spent Saturday and Sunday with her sister Mrs. L. Smith.

Mr. Riplinger, representing the Riplinger Stave Co. of Loyal, transacted business with the town clerk of this place.

Jim Hiles went to Spencer Tuesday, returning Wednesday.

Lew Breese left Monday for the town of Beaver.

A large gray wolf passed down the R.R. track last Sunday forenoon.  Mim Baker and Jerry Dougherty soon followed in pursuit, they shot at him several times, but at last were obliged to give up the chase and return home.

A Literary Society has been organized at this place.  The time of meeting is every Friday night.  A program will be given every two weeks.  The officers are: Pres., J. Scoles; Vice Pres., Frank Dubes; Sec., Alice Canfield; Sergeant at Arms, Wm. Carpenter.  This is known as the "Alpha Betta Gramma Society", and is for the advancement in literature and singing.
