John J, Weyer, 69, Loyal, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 6, 2011, at Ministry Saint Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., on Friday, Aug. 12, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Loyal, Rev. William Felix will officiate and burial will follow in St. Anthony’s Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Michael Weyer, T. J. Parker, Scott Fravert, Timothy "Zeke" Zunker, Kendal Schmidt and Kessler Schutte. Military rites will be conducted by the Loyal American Legion Post #175. Visitation will be held fro, 4-8 p.m. (with a 7 p.m. prayer service)  on Thursday, Aug. 11, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, and also at the church, on Friday, from 10 a.m. until time of service.

 

John Joseph Weyer was born on Oct. 17, 1941, in Loyal, the son of Michael and Mary (nee Walter) Weyer. He was raised on the family farm and received his education in area schools, graduating from Loyal High School in 1959. After completing his school;ing, John entered the Wisconsin National Guard and served until his honorable discharge. He married Andrea Wehe on Aug. 29, 1964, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Loyal. They farmed in the Loyal area until selling the farm in 1996. He then went to work at Nelson Muffler, Neillsville, until retiring in 2006. He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and the American Legion Post #175. He had many interests, but especially loved spending tome with his family and friends, hunting, collecting antique tools, giving 3-hour tours, and driving for the Amish.

 

He will be dearly missed by his wife, Andrea "Andy" Weyer, Loyal; five daughters, Annette (Rob) Rabe, Oshkosh, Sheila (Mark) McAfee, Queen Creek, Ariz;, Sheri Weyer, Bullhead City, Ariz., Carolyn (Craig) Binning, Fifield and Wendy Weyer, Bullhead City, Ariz; seven grandchildren, Carly Rabe, Trent Rabe, Madison McAfee, Emerson McAfee, Kincade McAfee, Anna Fleischman, and Joe Binning; six sisters, Joan (LaVerne "Pete") Lindner, Loyal, Shirley (Art) Lindner, Loyal, Mary Ellen Volovsek, Greenwood, Rosie Volovsek, Marshfield, Pat (Gary) Rhinehart, Anchorage, Alaska, and Chris (Jeff) Parker, Loyal; five brothers, Lawrence "Hap" (Joanne) Weyer, Loyal, Tom (Dawn) Weyer, Greenwood, Peter "Fox" Weyer, Neillsville, Paul (Cindy) Weyer, Loyal, and Mark (Nan) Weyer, Loyal. and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents.
