Wm. Hurlbudd informed the writer Monday that wolves can be heard howling every night over in his neighborhood.  Mr. Hurlbudd shot one recently and with a party of other friends chased another one last Sunday, but failed to get him.

John Vandeberg, accompanied by his wife and daughter Ruth, are visiting in Fond du Lac County.

A.P. Fulwiler has taken charge of his father’s farm.

Frank Lastofka and wife were agreeably surprised at their home last Saturday night.  Several of their friends and neighbors dropped in on them with refreshments and spent a very pleasant evening.  Mr. Lastofka and family intend to move to Milwaukee in the near future.

Orin Lawrence went to Hannibal, Taylor Co., last week to work in the woods.

C.M. Campbell is busy grinding feed every now and then for the neighbors.

A pumpkin pie sociable was given Wednesday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W.H. Rowe.  Quite a number were present and seemed to indulge in a good time.  The prizes on the guessing the weight of a large pumpkin was won by H. Hales and Maggie Chapel.  The proceeds, which amounted to something over $5, will be given to Rev. Bryan.
