Beeckler, Theresa A. (Marriage - 14 May 1910)

In the presence of some forty two guests all of whom were directly related to either the bride or groom, on Saturday evening at 8 o’clock the wedding of Miss Theresa A. Beeckler and Mr. Earl Pickett was solemnized at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Beeckler.  Miss Gertrude Holmes, a cousin of the bride played the wedding march when the happy pair accompanied by the bride’s sister, Pearl and the groom’s brother, Jesse as attendants, took their respective places under a large wedding bell directly in front of the south bow window well banked with flowers and potted plants, in the family‘s sitting room, and Rev. Postlethwaite pronounced the sacred words which united them in the holy bonds of matrimony.

The bride was beautifully gowned in a dress of sheer white, lavishly trimmed with Valenciennes lace and insertion, her sister too in white materially added to the pretty picture.  The groom and his attendant were in black. Directly after congratulations following the ceremony the assembled guests repaired to the dining room and sat down to an elaborate wedding dinner, all guests being served at once at the spacious tables found in this room.

The bride, the third daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Beeckler is a bright young woman, a capable housekeeper and a good school teacher. She is teaching at Chili and although having four weeks more to teach before completing her contract, she was married at this time that her father who left for the Saskatchewan District of Canada to be absent all summer, might be present to witness the ceremony.

Mr. Pickett is a young man of pleasing address, upright and honorable.  He has rented his father’s farm near Spencer where when her school teaching contract has expired they will begin housekeeping.

The young married people took Saturday’s midnight limited for Wausau where they made an over Sunday stay.  They received many beautiful, useful and costly gifts, mute testimonials of the esteem in which they are held. The News with their many friends joins in best wishes for a long and prosperous married life.
