Dimmitt, Mr. & Mrs. William E. (Gold - 2 FEB 1945)
Friday, Feb. 2, 1945, marks the golden wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. William E. Dimmitt. Plans are for the family to observe the event by a gathering of the children and grandchildren residing in this vicinity. The community joins in congratulations to these good neighbors and wishes them many more wedding anniversaries.
William E. Dimmitt and Miss Mary Gerard were united in the bonds of holy wedlock at Belleville, Wis., where both were residents at the time, her family having located there a number of years before. The date of the wedding was Feb. 2, 1895. There were seven brothers and sisters in the bride’s family, and sixteen in the family of the groom. More than half of the members of each family are yet living, but probably none will be present at this anniversary.
For a few years the newlyweds resided around Belleville, and then Mr. Dimmitt went railroading. Later he was employed at Rockford, Ill. In 1915 the family purchased a farm east of town (Humbird, Clark Co., Wis.) and that was their home until retirement a few years ago. Mr. and Mrs. Dimmitt have six children, all but two of whom reside in this vicinity.
