Nielsen, Joy Elaine (Marriage - 7 April 1962)

Nuptial vows were exchanged Saturday uniting in marriage Miss Joy Elaine Nielsen, Evanston, Ill., daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Nielsen, Rt. 3, Neillsville, and Daniel Lee Rayburn also of Evanston, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Rayburn, Rt. 3, Neillsville.

A double ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. Evan Dieck in the Zion American Lutheran Church in Pine Valley.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a floor-length gown of lace over taffeta. The skirt was very bouffant and the fitted bodice was fashioned with a Sabrina neckline, edged with rhinestones, and long, tapered sleeves.  Completing the bridal attire was a fingertip veil that cascaded from a pearl studded crown headpiece.

Her bridal bouquet was a purple orchid surrounded by white hyacinths.

Miss Barbara Rayburn attended as maid of honor.  Miss June Rothenburger was her bridesmaid.

Forrest Nielsen of Madison served as bestman. Charles Rayburn was groomsman. Raymond Maxwell, Granton, and Fred Rayburn, Jr., Evanston, Ill, ushered.

Vickie Ann Nielsen, Port Edwards, and Elizabeth Stucki, Madison, served as flower girls.

Miss Deon Larsen was organist.

Following the ceremony a reception was held in the church parlors.

On their return from a wedding trip to Peoria, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. Rayburn will reside in Evanston, Ill., where both are employed.

Both bride and groom are graduates of Neillsville High School.
