Koltis, Leonard  (15 OCT 1950-04 MAY 2011)

 

Leonard A. Koltis, 60, Rock Dam, rural Willard, died in Rock Dam on Wednesday, May 4, 2011. Funeral services were held at noon on Tuesday, May 10, at St. Bernard-St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church, Thorp. Rev. John Mano officiated. Burial will take place at a later date.

 

Leonard Albert Koltis was born on Oct. 15, 1950, in Stanley, the son of Walter and Daisy (nee Boardman) Koltis. He was raised and received his education in Thorp, graduating from Thorp High School in 1968. He attended UW-Stout, where he received his B.A. in career education and manufacturing engineering. He married Frances Renn on Aug. 24, 1974, in Danboy. They later divorced. He taught industrial arts in Pulaski for one year and then taught in Brillion from1975-1980. He then went to work at Pierce Manufacturing, Appleton, as a manufacturing engineer. He worked there for 10 years and then was employed at Ariens Manufacturing, Brillion, for a few years. He then started his own business, Len’s Home improvements. He married Jeanne Nohr on May 11, 2001, in Appleton. She died on Aug. 2. 2006. He continued with his carpentry business until the time of his death. He had many interests, but especially loved spending time with his children and granddaughter, hunting and fishing.

 

He will be dearly missed by his daughter, Wendolyn Koltis (fiancé Michael Lambrecht) Neillsville; his son, Wesley (special friend Laura Parke) Koltis, Appleton; his granddaughter, Aubrey Lambrecht, Neillsville; his father, Walter Koltis, Thorp; two brothers, Ernie Koltis, Washington, Iowa, and Dr. Gordon )Marit) Koltis, Winterville, N.C.; his sister, Susan Elliot, Greenfield, Ind.; four nieces, one nephew, and other relatives and friends.

 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanne, and his mother, Daisy.
