Pszeniczny, Raymond Felix (25 January 1924 - 5 May 2011)

Raymond F. Pszeniczny, age 87, of Thorp, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, May 5, 2011, surrounded by his family.  Funeral services were led by Rev. John Mano at St. Bernard-St. Hedwig Catholic Church in Thorp on Wednesday, May 11, 2011, at 10:30 a.m.  Burial followed at Riverside Cemetery in Withee.

Pallbearers were: DJ Pszeniczny, Stephen Meckley, Kevin Roholt, Alek Pszeniczny, Ari Pszeniczny and Daniel Lukasiewicz.  Visitation was held at Thorp Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 10, 2011, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary service, and also at the church, on Wednesday, from 9:30 a.m. until time of service.

Raymond Felix Pszeniczny was born on January 25, 1924, in the Town of Reseburg, Clark County, WI, the son of Stanley and Rosalia (Rogus) Pszeniczny.  He attended first through eighth grades at Oakland Country School.  He was united in marriage to Elaine Lukasiewicz on October 6, 1956. Raymond and Elaine shared most of their life on their cherished Reseburg farm on which they proudly raised their family of six children.  Later, they moved into town where he spent his retired life in Thorp, Wisconsin.

Raymond was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus, member of St. Bernard-St. Hedwig Parish Council and a talented dancer with his wife Elaine, in the Polish Kracoviak Dance Group of Thorp, Wisconsin.

He was especially fond of his Polish heritage and his fluent Polish speaking skills in which he shared countless stories of his life experiences.  One of his most memorable trips was to Poland, with his wife and daughter, to visit his aunt and cousin in 1995.

Raymond was a skilled "handyman" who could build or repair anything.  He always had a smile on his face, a kind word to say, and a joke to share with anyone he met.  He loved dancing to polka music, traveling and camping with family and friends, spending time withy his treasured grandchildren, and red tractors on which he spent most of his working life.

Raymond will be sadly  missed by his wife, Elaine; sons: Ray Jr. (Kathy), Gary (Sarah), and David (Karen); daughters: Debra (Gary) Roholt, Cheryl Meckley, and Sandra (John) Schultz; 13 grandchildren: Nicole, Stephanie, and Stephen Meckley, Olivia, Alek, and Ari Pszeniczny, DJ, Ashley, Halle and Morgan Pszeniczny, Kelby and Kevin Roholt, and Claire Pszeniczny; two great grandchildren: Alexis and Kellen Brewer; and a sister, Clara Grezegozewski.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers: Stanley Pszeniczny, Jr. and Edward Pszeniczny.

In honor of his strong faith and dedication to his Catholic religion, the family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorials be sent, in memory of Raymond, to Thorp Catholic Schools.

Online condolences may be expressed at www.cuddiefh.com.  Thorp Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
