Eberts, Mary #2 (14 MAR 1871 - 1 NOV 1960)

Mrs. Mary Eberts, a loveable personality of 89 years, who won the respect of many during the 44 years she had lived in this community, passed away Nov. 1, 1960 at the home of her son, Bert.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon from the Nazareth Lutheran Church at Withee.  Rev. Byrl Knudsen officiated.  Burial was made in Riverside Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers were Charles Stein, Morris Martin, Cecil Looker, Ray Purgett, Alfred Knuston and Ray Slock.  Mesdames Charles Thorne and Phil Laube were in charge of flowers.

Mary Shannon Eberts was born March 14, 1871 in Linn County, Mo.  In 1895 she was united in marriage to William Eberts in a ceremony performed at Marceline, Mo.  Her husband preceded her in death, passing away in 1913 at Rock Island, Ill.  The following years she came to Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), where she has since made her home with her son, Bert, north of the city.

Mourning her passing are Bert, one daughter, Norma Heddleston, Portland, Oregon, and two step-sons, Orin and William of Rock Island, Ill.
