Kovatch, Mary Jean (10 SEP 1960)

 

The wedding of Mary Jean Kovatch of Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), and Otto Wagner of Highland Park, Ill. was solemnized at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Owen, with Father Crubel officiating, on Saturday, Sept. 10, 1960, at 9:30 a.m.  Mary Jean Kovatch is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Kovatch of Owen, and Otto Wagner is the son of Mrs. Otto Wagner and the late Otto Wagner of Phoenix, Ariz.

 

The bride’s dress was a waltz length, silk organza over nylon net.  The sleeves and the neckline were outlined with embroidered applique which was repeated in the skirt.  Her veil was attached to a headpiece of seed pearls and pleated silk organza.  She carried a crescent bouquet of pink roses, with Amazon lilies and stephanotis with ivy foliage.

 

The bride’s maid of honor was Barbara Carl, a cousin of the groom, from Wheeling, Ill.  The bridesmaid was Sheila Kovatch, sister of the bride.  They wore gowns of blue taffeta sheaths with matching overskirts of nylon organdy and velvet ribbon.  Their feather hats with blush veils matched their dresses.  They carried colonial bouquets of carnations and chrysanthemums.

 

Carole Kovatch, sister of the bride, was flower girl.  She wore a light shade of blue dress with full skirt in floor length.

 

Attending the groom was Fred Selzer as best mon, of Wilmette, Ill., and groomsman was Robert Wagner of Phoenix, Ariz.

 

A reception was held at the Holy Rosary dining room and a dance that evening at the American Legion Hall.

 

Out of town guests came from Wilmette, Glenview, Waukegan, Highland Park, Evanston and Winona, Ill.; Phoenix, Ariz.; Sault St. Marie, Mich.; St. Paul and Faribault, Minn.

 

After a honeymoon in Canada the couple will make their home at Highland Park, Ill.
