Munson, Erma #3 (11 JUL 1916 - 3 MAY 1960)

Late Tuesday evening of last week Mrs. Gordon Munson passed away at her home in the Town of Green Grove (Clark Co., Wis.), suffering from a heart condition.  Her death came as a surprise and shock to her many relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 o’clock Friday afternoon from St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Green Grove.  The Rev. H. Timmerman officiated with burial being made at New Richmond, Wis.

Mrs. Gordon Munson, nee Erma Rudd, was born July 11, 1916 in St. Croix County, Wis.  She received her schooling in the New Richmond school system and on Dec. 28, 1935, was united in marriage to her husband in a ceremony performed at New Richmond.  Fourteen years ago the family moved to this community when they purchased the Oakland Cheese Factory southeast of Curtiss, which they operated until two months ago when it was purchased by Laabs Cheese Co.

She has been an active leader in community affairs and a willing worker in the activities of St. Paul’s Church and Ladies Aid.

She, too, was a devoted mother who will be sadly missed by her husband and five children.  One daughter, Mrs. George (Marjorie) Elongland, is a resident of Los Angeles, Calif., a second daughter, Barbara, is a student nurse at Luther School of Nursing at Eau Claire, while three other children, Carol, David and Allen are at home.  She is also survived by six brothers, David Rudd, Boyceville, William Rudd, New Richmond, Joseph Rudd, Cylon, Lawrence Rudd, Madison, and Oliver Rudd, Chicago, Ill., and two sisters, Mrs. Carl (Elvera) Kastens, New Richmond, and Mrs. Louis (Pearl) Kastens, Osceola.  One brother and a sister preceded her in death.
