Awe, Frieda #2 (23 MAR 1886 - 27 DEC 1959)

 

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Hoeper and Kraut Funeral Home for Mrs. Frieda Awe.  Mr. Harold Miller of the Jehovah Witnesses conducted the rites.  Burial was at St. Paul’s Cemetery.

 

Pallbearers were Steve Konik, Uno Kolpanen, Will Owens, Erwin Jable, Walfred Wirtala and Jerome Kunz.

 

In charge of flowers were Gert Owen, Dawn Jable, Corene and Ellen Wirtala, Susan Awe and Judy Molle.

 

Organ music was played by Mrs. June Morschek and Mrs. Charles Ryll and Mrs. Ervin Robertson sang.

 

Mrs. Frieda Awe, nee Schulte, passed away Dec. 27, 1959, at the age of 73 years and 9 months.  She was born in the town of Colby (Clark Co., Wis.) March 23, 1886.  She was united in marriage to Edwin Awe on March 27, 1907, in the town of Colby, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.  To this union were born nine children.  She lived in the towns of Colby and Green Grove all of her life.  The past two years she lived at the Havenet Nursing Home in Owen.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband in Feb. 1959, her daughter, Mrs. Viola Owens in November 1953, also three brothers and two sisters, and one granddaughter, Barbara Konik.

 

Surviving are three sons, Edward Awe of California, Lester Awe of Manitowoc and Royal Awe of Colby; five daughters, Mrs. Steve (Adeline) Konik of Cleveland, Mrs. Uno (Norma) Kolpanen of Owen, Mrs. Clark (Laura) Van Gorder of Waukegan, Ill., Mrs. Erwin (Gertha) Jable of Westchester, Ill., and Mrs. Walfred (Dorothy) Wirtala of Waukegan, Ill.; one sister, Mrs. August Buchholz of Curtiss; 20 grandchildren and also great-grandchildren.
