Buker, Arthur #2 (21 MAY 1895 - 14 DEC 1959)

Funeral services for Arthur Buker, prominent Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.) resident and banker for the past 47 years, were held Friday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock.  The Rev. Orval Egbert, pastor of the German Reformed Church, officiated at the final rites conducted from the Hill Funeral Home.  Burial was made at the Greenwood Cemetery.

His death was a surprise and shock to the community as he became ill while at the bank Monday morning and passed away at 11:30 p.m. the same day at St. Joseph’s Hospital at Marshfield.  Death was attributed to a heart attack.

Mr. Buker was born May 21, 1895, in Greenwood, and attended schools here.  He also attended Business College in Marshfield.  He went to work at the Farmers and Merchants Bank in 1912 and had been connected with it for the past 47 years.  It was one of two Clark County banks that remained open during the "bank holiday" in the early 30’s.

On April 22, 1918 he married the former Mae LeGault in St. Paul.  She survives him, as do their two children, a son, Cy, and a daughter, Elaine.  Nine grandchildren also survive.  A brother, Orland "Rug" Buker, preceded him in death.
