Clara St. John, 79, Neillsville, died on Friday, April 1, 2011, in the Critical Care Unit of Ministry Saint Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., on Monday, April 4, at the Gesche Funeral Home, Neillsville. Rev. Tom Hahn officiated. Music was provided by Jodi Rueth. Interment was in the Hatfield Cemetery. Casket bearers were Andy Nielsen, Trevor Wuethrich, Bobby Fisher, Joe Cernik, Kevin Janicki, and Ted Janicki, Jr.

 

Clara Lillian Janicki was born on Feb. 8, 1932, in Alma Township, Jackson County. She graduated from Neillsville High School in 1950. On April 20, 1952, she married Val St. John at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Pitteville. They lived south of Neillsville and she worked at home raising their family. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Sherwood. She enjoyed visiting with friends and family, crocheting, completing puzzles of all kinds and reading books.

 

Survivors include two children, Karen (Joseph) Tolaney, Willard, and Richard (Dawn) St. John, Mooreville, N.C.; eight grandchildren, Christina Tolaney, Marshfield, Melissa (Andy) Nielsen, Greenwood, Tonia (Treavor)  Wuethrich, Greenwood, Larry (Cynthia) St. John, Wausau, Kevin (Jana) St. John, Milwaukee, Renee (Roy) Olson, Wausau, Scott (Sarah) Krause, Stratford, and Tom (Danielle) Krause, Fenwood; 14 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Regina Mays, Wylie, Texas.

 

Preceding her in death were her husband, Val; a grandson, Timothy Tolaney; and nine siblings, Clemance, Wanda, Prixeda, Helen, Ted, Josie, Joe and Clementine.
