Pfohl, Ruth  (28 DEC 1955)

Ruth  Marilyn Pfohl, daughter of Rev. and Mrs. John Pfohl, Loyal, and James Herbert Unmacht, Tacoma, Washington, exchanged marriage vows in Trinity Lutheran Church at 2 p.m., December 28. The bride’s father was officiant at the nuptial service and also gave his daughter in marriage.

Miss Pfohl chose a white floor-length gown fashioned with a lace bodice featuring a Queen Elizabeth collar and long sleeves. The full skirt consisted of three tiers of net, each bordered with lace, coming to a point in front and back. Her only jewelry was a three-strand pearl necklace belonging to her mother. Her veil was of fingertip length. She carried a bouquet of white gardenias and stephanotis.

Mrs. Franklin Krueger, Cedarburg, a cousin of the bride, was matron of honor and Miss Oral Olsen, Spring Green, a college roommate of the bride, served as bridesmaid. Both attendants wore white floor-length gowns with panels of lace embellishing the skirt. Both carried bouquets of red carnations.

For the groom’s best man he chose Ronald Pfohl of Wartburg College, Waverly, Iowa, a brother of the bride, and Franklin Krueger of Cedarburg, a cousin of the bride, was groomsman.

Mrs. Royce Ohde, a friend from Dubuque, Iowa, sang, "The Lord’s Prayer," and "Today O Lord." Miss Margaret Ann Rottjer was organist.

Mrs. Pfohl wore, at her daughter’s wedding, a corsage of white mums on a rose colored gown.

Following the ceremony a reception was held in the church parlors.

Both Mr. and Mrs. Unmacht are graduates of Wartburg College, Waverly, Iowa, class of 1955. The bride is a graduate of Prairie du Sac High School and the groom is a graduate of Dubuque High.

The groom is a football coach at Menlo, Iowa, and the bride is a commercial teacher at Gladbrook, Iowa.
