Greenwood, Wisconsin (22 February 1962)

 

The Rev. Gene Carlson used the theme "Social Concerns for Christians" for his sermon on "Brotherhood Sunday" at Grace Methodist Church. 

 

The neighborhood group met Tuesday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Mary Barr. Those present sewed cancer pads. Mrs. Henry Vollrath was in charge.

 

Mrs. Helen Koza and Mrs. Stephen Smolinski of Chicago spent the weekend with Mrs. Ray Hoffman and family.  Sunday they were present at the first communion of Susan Hoffman.

 

Mr. and Mrs. James Metcalf and Mrs. Jake Speich and daughter were Monday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. William Gerlach in Neillsville.

 

Robert Lindner and Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Lindner of Muskego spent from Tuesday until Thursday last week with Mrs. Catherine Lindner, and attended the funeral of their aunt, Mrs. Erhardt Lindner on Wednesday.  Others who attended were: Miss Carmen Lindner, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Merkel and Mr. and Mrs. Michael Hughes, all of Marshfield.

 

Larry Hendrickson, 13 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Hendrickson, entered Memorial Hospital at Neillsville for medical treatment last week.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Frank Obernberger of Wausau visited Wednesday with Mr. and Mrs. Henry Keiner.

 

Duane Thomas, son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Decker, was baptized by the Rev. Gene Carlson Sunday at Grace Methodist Church. Sponsors were the infant’s uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Stewart, of Stanley, who, with their family were dinner guests at the Decker home. Other guests were Mr. and Mrs. Gary Rohde and son of Colby, Larry Jepsen and the maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Stewart of Greenwood.

 

Mrs. John Gotz, entertained members of the Willing Homemakers Monday evening last week.  Mrs. Joe Ulesich presented the current lesson.  The next meeting is scheduled March 19 at the home of Mrs. Ivan Ruzic, Jr.
