Overman, Kathleen Jane (Marriage - 17 February 1962)

Miss Kathleen Jane Overman, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. M. V. Overman of Neillsville, became the bride of Donald Wayne Johnson, also of this city, son of Mr. and Mrs. Roland Johnson of Pepin, in a double ring ceremony Saturday in the Methodist Church, with the Rev. Lloyd Mauer in charge.

Bouquets of white and pink gladioli in tall vases decorated the church. White pompons in short vases bedecked the altar.

Miss Overman, given in marriage by her father, was attired in a floor-length gown of nylon sheer-over-tulle and taffeta, with a full bouffant skirt and a flat bow in the back. The demure embroidered yoke and Sabrina neckline and short, gathered sleeves, fashioned the fitted bodice. A lace cloche, highlighted with seed pearls, held her silk illusion fingertip veil. She carried a bridal bouquet of Japette orchids, pink sweetheart roses and white hyacinths.

Mrs. Ronald Markus of Sheboygan, matron-of-honor, wore a street-length dress of Nile green taffeta; "V" insets of dyed-to-match lace accented the front of the full skirt. The taffeta and lace fitted bodice was styled with short sleeves and a scoop neckline, fashioned with frosted inset band of lace.  A self-bow was fastened at the front waistline.  Her headband featured a pointed bow of Nile taffeta, from which her face length veiling of silk illusion cascaded.

Arnold Johnson of Pepin was his brother’s bestman.  Ushers were Tom Overman, Dr. Roger Heineck and Jerry Overman.

A reception for 40 guests was held at the Overman home immediately following the ceremony.

On their return from a wedding trip to Colorado, Mr. and Mrs. Johnson will reside at 318 Grand Ave.  They expect to return about March 4.

The bride is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin, School of Nursing, and until recently was employed in the Alaska Native hospital in Mc Edgecombe, Alaska.

Mr. Johnson is a 1955 graduate of the Law School of the University of Wisconsin and is the Neillsville City Attorney.

Relatives here for the wedding included Mrs. Bernice Lundberg and Mrs. Joseph Neily, St. Paul, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Roland Johnson, Mrs. Jahnke and Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Johnson of Pepin; and the following friends from away: Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Nelson of Cornell, and Mr. and Mrs. David Peterson, Madison.
