Vanderhoof, Lois  (10 OCT 1953)

The Rev. Harvey Schall was officiant at the 2:30 o’clock rites in the Spencer Methodist Church Saturday Oct. 10, which united in marriage Miss Lois Dorene Vanderhoof daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Vanderhoof and Victor R. Scheir, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Schier, of Marshfield, R. 4.

During the service two vocal duets, the Lord’s Prayer and Oh Sweet Mystery of Life were sung by Jane Andrews and Karen Nielson. Janice Nielson provided the organ accompaniment.

Tiers of lace detailed the flounces that formed the tulle over satin floor-length skirt of the gown worn by the bride.

An all-over lace bodice designed with long sleeves that came to points over the wrists and a V neckline finished with a wide collar was worn over the gowns strapless bodice. Seed pearls and sequins adorned the crown that held her lace trimmed finger-tip veil. Her shoulder bouquet was red Roses and swansonia.

Miss Gloria Vanderhoof was gowned in a blue nylon net lace over taffeta frock, when she served as maid of honor for her sister. She carried a bouquet of white and shrimp colored carnations.

Similarly styled gowns in shrimp colored lace and net were worn by the two bridesmaids, Miss Jean Schier of Port Edwards, a cousin of the groom, and Miss Sandra Rahm of Spencer, a cousin of the bride. They carried white and blue carnations.

Attending the groom were Emory Rahm of Spencer, a cousin of the bride, as best man, and Jerrel Arnold of Chicago and Fred Hendrickson, Marshfield, as groomsmen.

Iris and Barbara Voelker of Marshfield acted as ushers.

After the church rites, the newlyweds greeted approximately 150 guests at a reception at the Vanderhoof  home.

A dance in the evening at the Country Ballroom completed the day’s festivities.

Out of town guests came from Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Marshfield, Granton, Port Edwards, Omega, Owen, Curtiss, Colby, Neillsville and Unity.
