Peissig, Joseph (17 SEP 1878 - 31 JAN 1958)

 

Joseph Peissig passed away at 6:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 31, 1958, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ervin Krahn in Owen (Clark Co., Wis.) .  He had been suffering from a heart condition.

 

He was born in Austria Sept. 17, 1878, and came to this county with his parents at the age of five.  They settled in the Stetsonville area on a farm, and he lived on and operated the original farm for 60 years.

 

He was united in marriage to Mary Peissig on June 12, 1911, at Stetsonville.  He is survived by his wife and two daughters, Alice (Mrs. Erwin Krahn) of Owen, and Margaret (Mrs. Melvin Rablee) of Richfield; one sister, Mrs. Arthur Laabs of Colby and four grandchildren.

 

Funeral services were conducted on Monday, Feb. 3, at 9:00 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Stetsonville with Father Arthur Webber reading the Mass.  The Rosary was held Sunday evening at the Hoeper and Kraut Funeral Home at Owen at 8:00 p.m. with Father Crubel officiating.  Pallbearers were Kenneth Gebert, Eugene Gebert, Melvin Gebert, Glendon Paul, franklin Ludwig and Herbert Kueyler.  Interment was made in the Stetsonville Cemetery.
