Phillips, Edgar William (? - 23 August 1961)

 

Edgar William Phillips, 39, died August 23 at a hospital in Waukegan, Ill., of coronary occlusion. A World War II veteran, he was wounded badly on D-Day in Normandy.  He was a paratrooper.

 

He was brought to Owen for burial, with Rev. Wilkman officiating, Saturday from the Bethany Lutheran Church. Burial was made in Riverside Cemetery.

 

He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Esther Miletich of North Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. John Watson, grandparents, and a sister Mrs. Mildred McDosonan of Santa Ana, Calif.

 

He was accorded military rites by the American Legion Post.
